So you are ready to buy.... Now What??

So you know you are ready to buy your first house. But now you don’t know which way to go. Who do you work with? Do you get a Mortgage broker first and how do I find one?

Lauderhill Listing

Most people have friends who know a REALTOR or who have worked with one. My first advice is to ask your friends and family members to help you with that one. Its better to go with someone you know has worked with a friend, better references that way.

If you don’t know of anyone that does, Internet search is your next option. Find someone local to the area you are looking at. Not every agent works all areas. Someone from Miami may not know the Coral Springs neighborhood or stats, and vise versa. Does the agent specialize in working with First Time Homebuyers?

Interview a few and see which one you click with. Things run much smother if you are working with someone you are comfortable with.

Once you found a  REALTOR he or she will ask you some qualifying questions.

How many bedrooms, baths, pool no pool and most importantly whether or not you are pre – approved with a lender? Without that, the listing agent won’t even look at a possible offer you will be sending over. Not only that, how much do you think you qualify for? Are you looking in a price range that may be over? Know this before going in.

After you have been pre – approved, our next step is locating the PERFECT home for you!!!

Do you have a buyers book? That is something I give my buyers. A little something special to start our working relationship.

What kind of book? Would love to know what it was about.

Most home owners buy only a few homes in their lifetime, so it is not a surprise to see they don't know the next step. Good luck on guiding your buyers through the process.

Good point. Always get pre-approved first as a buyer, it will alleviate many problems and roadblocks further down the line.

I see that I am educating all the way through transactions.  Many first time homebuyers are afraid of the economy ahead of us.

Great idea on the buyers book. I am going to develope one for the office.
