If you are like me, I carry my camera everywhere. Pictures for my listings, pictures of the neighborhood, or like what I am also doing, LOTS of BPO's.
Here is the problem I run into several times maybe a week. I take my pictures and have to wait till I get to a computer to upload my pictures. I have run into problems where I forget my card reader for the camera card. Would have to run home to get the card or just wait till I got home. Which would slow me down, and if you are like me are always on the go. So having to stop to go back home to get it is no use to me.
So my husband got me this great Christmas gift to make things just a bit easier for me. Its a wifi camera card called the EyeFi. Basically how it works, if you are near a wireless network and if your camera is on, it will automatically upload your pictures to where you have it assigned to. You can have it upload to your home computer or sites like FLickr. It is the coolest thing. I was at home and the computer was on, I had my son taking pictures around the house and you would see within seconds the picture uploading to the computer.
Now there are several cards to the EyeFi, there is a 2Gb card that only does pictures and there is a 4Gb card that does video and pictures. Now the video will upload as well with the 4Gb card not the 2Gb.
I had to share this with all of you. Just to make things just a bit easier for you as my husband did for me. Leave it up to him to find something like this. When he went to go buy it at Best Buy, they looked at him like he was crazy. But he managed to find it there.
Hope this helps you! Have a Great New Year everyone!

I just read about this yesterday on the Nikon website and I have to say I was going to order one and now that I see how much you love yours, I certainly will. Talk about a time saver. I was thinking when I go on vacation to somewhere like Disneyland where the cards fill up real fast!!!!

Todd I guess I have good timing!
Hi Jeannette,
I hadn't heard of this. But I can certainly think of situations where it could be helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I absolutely love this idea. I can see how it would save me a lot of headaches.
Michael Its a life saver trust me!
Very cool! Any idea what the cost is on average? Just wondering~
Julia You would love it!
Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a neat little gadget that would be very handy to have.
Vanessa the 2G was 50.00 and the 4Gb was 72.00. Trust me well worth it!
Sounds so cool and easy. I changed over to the cards that break down (in half) so you can insert them into your computers USB. This is also a good possibilty. Thanks!
With smart phones offering very high resolution photos and videos - this card is somewhat redundant! I can take a great photo, crop it, enhance it with a HD app, and e-mail it or send it over the internet. I can also upload my FLIP camera to my IPhone so I guess I don't see the value in this product!
I have not heard about this. sounds like a great thing if you wanted to video a home, possibly? Price is good. Will look into this. thanks for sharing!! I learn so very much here on AR:)
What will they come up with next? I love the concept. Thanks for sharing!
Jeanette, thanks for sharing this info. I hadn't heard about the EyeFi before, but can certainly see how it can help. Best to you in 2010.
What if you take your camera out of the country on vacation? Will you get hit with a huge data fee?
Thanks for the post! It's a great idea. I will definitely get one!
I like It!
Jeanette, that's totally amazing! Thanks for sharing, technology is a great thing. All the best for 2010!
You,Weichert,
Everyone doesn't have a high quality smart phone with digital picture taking capability. Its nice to hear new ideas and have options. Some people prefer to take pictures with a camera and many cameras have capabilities way beyond a smart phone. So there IS a value to some people. Thanks Jeannette for putting it out there. I think it is a great product.
That's pretty awesome! Wondering, is it a secure connection? Would hate for the photos to get sidetracked and ship to another spot! :)
Thanks for the share, I'll have to check that out for my boss who's on the road with BPO's all the time!
I wonder if this works internationally? (Going to Uganda soon.)
I hate the pain of loading my pics into my camera. Then there are the non-real estate photos that never seem to make it to the computer until I spend some time going through the entire card for a clean-up. Those prices are well worth it and I'll be going to Best Buy soon! Thanks!
WOW.. thank you for sharing. Now I have to give myself a belated Christmas present!! LOL
Totally cool! What will they think of next????
Sounds like a cool gift. One of my 2010 desired toys is a new digital camera
Ashley How it works, when you buy the card you program it to upload to whatever site you want it to go to. So if it flickr you want it to go to then that is where it will go.
Joetta I would assume if there was a wireless network then there shouldn't be a problem. Go to there website its Eye.Fi and see if the answer is there.
Wow!!! Thank you for sharing. I do a TON of BPO's and, recently, when I broke my foot and had my husband take the photos (the BPO companies want us to do them personally now, but couldn't for a few weeks) this would have been PERFECT - almost like I was actually there. Instead, he would call me at every stop and also discuss each and every pix when I would upload the photos once he got home. It took a lot of extra time (additional cost of the cast on the leg.) Now that I'm mobile, I'm off to Best Buy!!!!!!
That is way cool, thanks for sharing, it's not something I had heard of yet. It's hard to keep up with the latest technological gadgets these days, there' so much new stuff all of the time... Have a great and prosperous new year!
I hadn't heard of this before! I just got a new camera for Christmas and have been taking a ton of pictures trying to learn the camera and transferring the photos is a bit cumbersome. I'm going to look into this. Thank you for the heads up!!
Thanks for the info. I've received some great tech tips on AR. I'll add this one to the list.
Wow, that is SUPER cool! Thank you for sharing! Like Charlotte, I got a new camera for Christmas and while it beats the pants off of my old one, it's not perfect. This product might just make it perfect! Excellent!
Love it love it love it! Thank you soooo much for sharing! I bought into the Verizon mini laptop and broadband connection, but you still have to have all the stars lined up and you still have to remember your card reader, this will work as a cheaper substitute!
Sounds great. Thanks for sharing this, Jeannette! -- Tanya in Montreal
This is a great step forward. I just ran into this issue today where an out of state buyer was waiting for me to get back to my computer to upload photos for review before making an offer. This will certainly change the way we work...................chris
Hi Jeanette, What ? How can this be !? Outstanding tevhnology ! I'm off to Best Buy !
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Janette, I just got a new camera for Christmas. Now I will purchase this to go with it. Thanks for sharing
Hi Jeannette - I'm a stickler for editing, but can still think of a few uses for this. Thanks for the tip!
Sounds like a cool product. I just got a new digital camera for christmas that i keep in my car almost the time, but i bring it regularly to change batteries & upload pics.
Handy tool - I had no idea there was such a gadget. Going to check it out!
I was on my way to Best Buy to get a card reader - now I'll look for one of these!
Hi Jeanette...Wonderful. Sure is great for someone traveling without their computer although I don't leave home without my camera and my computer. I'm going to check on Amazon to see if I can get it there. That's always my first shopping spot.
Thanks,
Kate
Unbelievable how quickly technology is advancing! I think it sounds great.
Is it compatible with all camera types?
Thanks for sharing!
Jeanette...thanks for sharing this cool piece of techno! Sounds great....I do tons of BPO's and can see a good use for this!
I had no idea. I'll print this and share with the technical half of my partnership! Thank you for spreading the word!

Wow! What a time saver! I wonder if it's available online?
Signing off, I'm going to Best Buy right now! I mean how great is that? Plus I have grown children, you know the kind that came with an Intel chip implanted.
Awesome - thanks for sharing this with all of us!
May you have a great 2010!
I've been wasting so much time downloading photos to my computer that I think this is great and I'd never heard of it. Thanks for sharing!
learning some thing new is always good....especially in the tech dept...thanks for sharing
Sounds nice! I use my iphone. I take the pic or video, upload it to Flckr (mobile photos app), and I am finished. Very convenient.
I have never, ever heard of this. how cool...there are always a new gadget coming on all the time. i have to research and see how the cost is and is there a monthly fee. thanks.
Or an iPhone so you're always online!
I had never heard of this, but it sounds great....there are times when I shoot 2-700 pictures in a day...yes, i shoot a bit of everything everywhere...depending on what I'm doing...so this sounds really neat!
That is really neat! I haven't heard of this before!
That might just work for me. I will be going on line to check it out.
Gotta love technology....
Thanks for the tip. It sounds like a real time saver. I'm off to check it out.
Thanks for the recommendation. It sounds like a useful gadget.
Jeannette,

I was going through my friends list and noticed you haven't posted in forever, is everything alright? Hurricane didn't get you did it?
