To make things just a bit EASIER!

If you are like me, I carry my camera everywhere. Pictures for my listings, pictures of the neighborhood, or like what I am also doing, LOTS of BPO's.

Here is the problem I run into several times maybe a week. I take my pictures and have to wait till I get to a computer to upload my pictures. I have run into problems where I forget my card reader for the camera card. Would have to run home to get the card or just wait till I got home. Which would slow me down, and if you are like me are always on the go. So having to stop to go back home to get it is no use to me.

EyeFiEyeFi

So my husband got me this great Christmas gift to make things just a bit easier for me. Its a wifi camera card called the EyeFi. Basically how it works, if you are near a wireless network and if your camera is on, it will automatically upload your pictures to where you have it assigned to. You can have it upload to your home computer or sites like FLickr. It is the coolest thing. I was at home and the computer was on, I had my son taking pictures around the house and you would see within seconds the picture uploading to the computer.

Now there are several cards to the EyeFi, there is a 2Gb card that only does pictures and there is a 4Gb card that does video and pictures. Now the video will upload as well with the 4Gb card not the 2Gb.

I had to share this with all of you. Just to make things just a bit easier for you as my husband did for me. Leave it up to him to find something like this. When he went to go buy it at Best Buy, they looked at him like he was crazy. But he managed to find it there.

Hope this helps you! Have a Great New Year everyone!

I just read about this yesterday on the Nikon website and I have to say I was going to order one and now that I see how much you love yours, I certainly will. Talk about a time saver. I was thinking when I go on vacation to somewhere like Disneyland where the cards fill up real fast!!!!

Hi Jeannette,

I hadn't heard of this. But I can certainly think of situations where it could be helpful. Thanks for sharing.

Vanessa the 2G was 50.00 and the 4Gb was 72.00. Trust me well worth it!

Posted by Jeannette Neerpat, e-Pro Coral Springs/Parkland Real Estate (London Realty Corp) 6 months ago

Sounds so cool and easy. I changed over to the cards that break down (in half) so you can insert them into your computers USB.  This is also a good possibilty.  Thanks!

Posted by Lyn Sims - Northwest Suburbs (Schaumburg Homes - RE/MAX Suburban) 6 months ago

With smart phones offering very high resolution photos and videos - this card is somewhat redundant!  I can take a great photo, crop it, enhance it with a HD app, and e-mail it or send it over the internet.  I can also upload my FLIP camera to my IPhone so I guess I don't see the value in this product!

Posted by WEICHERT, REALTORSĀ® - Synergy 6 months ago

I have not heard about this. sounds like a great thing if you wanted to video a home, possibly?  Price is good. Will look into this. thanks for sharing!!  I learn so very much here on AR:)

You,Weichert,

Everyone doesn't have a high quality smart phone with digital picture taking capability. Its nice to hear new ideas and have options. Some people prefer to take pictures with a camera and many cameras have capabilities way beyond a smart phone. So there IS a value to some people. Thanks Jeannette for putting it out there. I think it is a great product.

That's pretty awesome! Wondering, is it a secure connection? Would hate for the photos to get sidetracked and ship to another spot! :)

Thanks for the share, I'll have to check that out for my boss who's on the road with BPO's all the time!

Posted by Joetta Fort - Realtor Denver Colorado Real Estate (The DiGiorgio Group) 6 months ago

I hate the pain of loading my pics into my camera.  Then there are the non-real estate photos that never seem to make it to the computer until I spend some time going through the entire card for a clean-up.  Those prices are well worth it and I'll be going to Best Buy soon!  Thanks!

Ashley How it works, when you buy the card you program it to upload to whatever site you want it to go to. So if it flickr you want it to go to then that is where it will go.

Posted by Jeannette Neerpat, e-Pro Coral Springs/Parkland Real Estate (London Realty Corp) 6 months ago

Joetta I would assume if there was a wireless network then there shouldn't be a problem. Go to there website its Eye.Fi and see if the answer is there.

Wow!!!  Thank you for sharing.  I do a TON of BPO's and, recently, when I broke my foot and had my husband take the photos (the BPO companies want us to do them personally now, but couldn't for a few weeks) this would have been PERFECT - almost like I was actually there.  Instead, he would call me at every stop and also discuss each and every pix when I would upload the photos once he got home.  It took a lot of extra time (additional cost of the cast on the leg.)  Now that I'm mobile, I'm off to Best Buy!!!!!!

Posted by Juli Vosmik (Dominion Real Estate Partners, LLC, Scottsdale, AZ) 6 months ago

This is a great idea in general, especially if you have numerous computers and laptops that you would like to load pictures to and you don't want to install the camera's software on to each. Will it upload to more than one computer simultaneously?  Thanks for the tip!

Love it love it love it! Thank you soooo much for sharing! I bought into the Verizon mini laptop and broadband connection, but you still have to have all the stars lined up and you still have to remember your card reader, this will work as a cheaper substitute!

Thanks,
