Computers for Schools!

Two weeks ago I went to an Open House for my daughters school and thought it was wonderful. While the teacher was discussing what there daily routine was and what they do in Centers. One of the centers was computers. She did complain that she has two computers but only has one working, the other can't get on the internet.

She has been trying to get it fixed with no luck. It seems that this particular computer is much older and seems that it will be needed to be updated, but of course because of budget cuts they can't get another one. Her class is not the only class with this same problem.

Now with 20 + students one computer per class in not enough. Going to a computer class in the school is not possible right now since the 3rd graders and up are preparing for FCAT's.

I don't think its fair that the students feel the strain of budget cuts, of course everyone says that students won't feel it, but I think this is a direct strain on them. That means that they bairly get any time on the computer since the next has to get time as well.

So I am on a mission to donate a couple of computers to the school. But of course I will need to get some help. I felt the first place I know where I can go the do just that would be here on the Rain! From here I will be trying some local stores and resturants to see if they too will donate for the computers. Apple Mini

So let's see what we can do. The school only has apple computers and the ones I am looking at getting for them are the Apple Mini's, which are $699 a piece. I would love the get them a couple. I know that many of us are feeling the finincial strain, but I think some of us can donate a little.

Thanks in advance everyone!!!
