Coral Springs' J.P. Taravella High School is going to the Inauguration!

J.P. Taravella which is the high school in Coral Springs, Fl is going the the Inauguration. One of the biggest things this high is going to do! What an honor it is to be able to play for the first African American president!

There is only one problem, they need help raising money to go. They are almost there but need more help! It is great to see the local community helping out! If we can give some more help it would be so much appericated!

With just 10 days before the band boards a bus and departs for the nation's capital, local groups and businesses are answering the call to raise $150,000 needed to cover the Coral Springs band's expenses. Otherwise, at least a dozen of the 172 band members expected to make the trip might have to stay home.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Miami has offered to match every dollar up to $20,000 donated through Neighbors 4 Neighbors at
www.neighbors4neighbors.org, which was not working Tuesday. Organizers promised it would be running soon.

Wade's World Foundation, the organization founded by
Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade, gave $10,000. Wings Plus in Coral Springs, and Beef 'O' Brady's in Sunrise are giving a percentage of their sales to the band, while Applebee's is donating food for a barbecue at the school on Sunday.

Vista Healthplans, which on Jan. 1 became school district's health insurance provider, kicked in $19,000 to sponsor 15 students and pay for a charter bus.

So let's see if we can give this school a helping hand!
