When I started blogging here on the rain I really didn't expect to build the relationships I have. I don't think many of us had those intentions. But after reading and commenting and then finally taking the steps from just being on the computer to meeting in person.
Some of us have met for dinner, have met at the BarCamps, or have went on a weekend get away. But whatever out intentions were we have built lasting friendships, sisterhoods, and brotherhoods.
A couple of months ago I came here on the Rain looking to see if anyone would be able to send me fall leaves. I was trying to teach my children about the changing of the seasons, since we really only see 2. Well one person came in and did a FANASTIC job with this projuect. Not only did it help me, but it gave her kids a fun scavnger hunt!!
When I came home from the hospital there was a box and in it was individually wrapped leaves in there own ziplock bags. How wonderful was it for her to take that extra time for that, especially with her busy schedule.
I wanted to make sure my children did a great project with them. And sure enough my daughter had a project she needed for school. 100 days of school and it needed to have a theme. Woo Hoo, lets pull the leaves out and work with them. My daughter was like OH YEAH!!!
So here is a picture of her with her school project and a video clip Thanking Carolyn Starr for the box of leaves!!!
ActiveRain, thank you for the business you have brought me and the lasting relationship that I would have never had if you hadn't come along!!!

Carolyn Rocks! And so does this blog. The relationships we are building on ActiveRain are lasting.
Carolyn is amazing, I just love her. What a great thing for her to do.
I too am amazed at the friendships and genuine attachments I have formed with the folks from AR. I am so happy I was introduced to AR a year ago.
What a great warm and fuzzy post. Active Rain really does go above and beyond my expectations too.
Carolyn is a shining star here! AR did surprise me at the friendships I have here as well... and I have been lucky enough to meet a few in person.. Actually had lunc with one today!
Jeanette, as anyone who has been on ActiveRain for any amount of time knows -- it's all about the relationships!
Hi Jeannette~ I feel so blessed that I have found this place called activerain, let alone the perks that go along with it. I never expected to make the friends that I have made in here. It seems that so many are so willing to share and help out in so many ways that don't even have to do with real estate! How awesome of Carolyn to be so kind!
Terri Very much agree!!
Audrey Carolyn always goes out of her way for people!!
Ellie I am glad you agree!
Robert Who did you have lunch with?
Brian You and I know that very much, but there are new people who don't understand what AR can do for them.
Vickie Everyone here has open arms, willing to help!
BRIAN I am also very proud to be a part of this community!

I too have made many friends here on Active Rain. I am looking forward to seeing some of them this weekend in San Francisco.
Great story and I also loved the video.
Fun story and it is always encouraging to read when other rainers help out with things like this. Take care and happy blogging!
Carolyn is one of my favorite people here and I agree that AR is a wonderful place to establish contacts for business and an even better place to make a lasting friendship!
WOW - that is really cool. It doesn't surprise me, as that is how the people here at AR seem to be. But it just reinforces the fact that the Rain has the BEST people out there! Great story!
Hi guys. You all are too kind. Thank you.
JN, kudos and congrats on the feature! Hug and kiss your little darlings for me! I can't wait to get down there to meet you guys, hang out and have mad play dates. This is our last year in New York and we'll be moving to FL. Yay! I plan on traveling like crazy and making eye lots of eye candy publications (LOL).
Picture me being a FL Realtor... What a scary thought... I have soooo gotta meet BB and TLW. Ines will have to teach me how to make a proper M, poor Gail M will be the boss of me and Midori will have a wild woman to train. At least us Brooklyn born gal pals can hook up weekly. How cool is that? Awesome! JN, I can't wait to show you my editing programs and equipment. We'll do mad videos and give Team Blogging a whole new meaning, bay-bay! ;-)
Jeannette: So true. I'm proud to say I know people all over the United States now and several I've talked to on the phone. You never know where it will lead but it's all good! Have a great day!
great story, Active Rain has been one of the best uses of my time during times when we all have too much of
Jeannette- Very nice story! That is what I love about this community! It is filled with very caring people who are willing to share in this internet world of ours. I think if it wasn't for A/R I would not be half as knowledgeable as I have become or so I may believe I have become. :-) I have learned so much here I can't even quantify it. Thanks for sharing yet another uplifting story. Bob H
I see it as more informative, than as "lasting relationships" I like the information as it pertains to my business as a Realtor but I really don't think I'm interested in lasting relationships through this medium

Patricia ~ Building relationships here can be very rewarding. Not only for friendships but have a wonderful group for referrals to give or receive. This is the perfect place just for that!
What a nice blog.
It's reasuring to know there are still a great many wonderful people out there. Especially in AR
i'm constantly amazed with the people on Active Rain...they are always so helpful.
Our relationships are the most important things in life. God put us here for relationships, not just when Him, but with each other. Glad someone sent you leaves. I live in the four season of the great state of KY. I never thought about areas where they didn't experience that beauty. If you ever need leaves again...I be glad to send some as well.
Great story, relationship building is one of the great qualities of this site, so is the terrific business building relationship also.
Those are fantastic smiles!
